Notice from Norfolk County Council: NCC urges DIYers to make waste part of their project plan and budget
Be aware that from 01 April, you could be charged for disposal of your DIY waste at your local recycling centre. Below is a list of the charges but to read the whole notice then click here. It also includes a note about fly tipping!
Pay as You Throw – price guide from 1 April 2018: Cost per item or per 80 litre bag or equivalent
- Rubble – £3
- Timber – £3
- Flat glass – £5
- Plasterboard * – £9 (£15 at Mile Cross Recycling Centre)
- General waste – £5
- Tyres* – £4 per tyre
- Metals – free
This change will only affect DIY waste. The recycling centres will still take all household waste for free which includes furniture, sofas, white goods and other electrical items, and garden waste.
