Saturday April 6th – “THE EIGHT MOUNTAINS” (12)

An Italian film that tells an epic journey of male friendship and self-discovery set in the breath-taking Italian Alps, ‘The Eight Mountains’ follows the profound, complex relationship between Pietro and Bruno over four decades. A meditation on our capacity for love shapes this sweeping story of two friends, torn apart by family and life’s journeys but bound by something deeper. This film has mystery and passion, it climbs mountainous heights and rewards you with the opposite of vertigo: a sort of exaltation. Italian language, English subtitles.
“A movie with air in its lungs, and love in its heart” – The Guardian

Saturday April 20th – “THE MIRACLE CLUB” (12A)

Set in Dublin Ireland, in 1968: close friends Lily (Maggie Smith), Eileen (Kathy Bates), and Dolly (Agnes O’Casey) win the trip of a lifetime – a pilgrimage to Lourdes. With each woman desperately in need of a personal miracle, the trip seems like an answer to all their prayers. But when they are joined by Chrissie (Laura Linney), returning to Dublin after decades in America, deep wounds from the past are re-opened and bitter truths exposed. As they confront one another and embrace their shared past, the group reckon with revelations that will change them forever.
“The movie is about how Lourdes has a strange, restorative spiritual effect, that reconciles all in epiphanies of love and forgiveness” – The Observer

  • FREE SEPTIC TANK OFFER

Rodger Harrison is giving a short presentation (with Q&A session) at the next Parish Council meeting on Thursday 21 March at 7:30 pm in the Millennium Pavilion.

Everyone is welcome to attend (especially those with septic tanks who might be able to benefit from this offer)

    FREE SEPTIC TANK OFFER

Harrison Civils Ltd (who are developing the barns at Church Lane) are running a new scheme to help clean up the rivers Bure, Wensum and Yare. They have been installing sewage treatment plants in Norfolk for 25 years and are at the forefront of solving the current Nutrient Pollution issue. They are the supplier, service agent, and installer for Graf Sewage treatment plants which have been approved by Natural England as the only plant that can viably be used for the foreseeable future in situations where NN is an issue. They are now running a scheme to replace any suitable septic tank in the parish, absolutely FREE. Septic tanks are polluting our rivers with Nitrogen and Phosphates according to Natural England, so by replacing them they company gain credits that can be offset against other new housing developments. This is called off-site mitigation. They can install the complete unit for FREE because they will sell the credits gained from this process, to developers and anyone else requiring Nutrient Credits for planning requirements, which will then enable them to achieve Nutrient Neutrality and therefore planning permission.

    The benefits are:

    • Villagers will get around £10 – £15k worth of work for free
    • Our ditches and rivers will no longer have raw sewage running into them
    • Builders and developers can get back to building us new homes
