  • Farewell to the Barnards: November 2017

    Message from Mary Walsh:

    Good bye and thank you to Lynn and Mike Barnard.

    Mike and Lynn have moved from our village to Holt . We will miss them and wish them well.

    Mike and Lynn have done so much in the village. The worked so hard for the village hall, delivered the newsletters and many other things behind the scenes.

    I remember when I first met them when they came to stay with us and their determination to contribute to village life has been amazing.

  • Notice: Dog Poo Collection

    There are 3 dog poo bins located in Hindolveston:

    • In the Recreation Ground car park
    • On Church Lane
    • On Pinfold Lane

    The Parish Council pays the North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) to provide a licenced poo collection service every 2 weeks. This happens on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Dog owners are strongly encouraged to be responsible for the actions of their dogs and clean up after them when necessary. They are also asked to use the facility in the manner for which it is intended.

    Please note that it is possible to have the bins emptied between the regular (fortnightly) collection by contacting the Parish Council clerk [email protected] and providing the relevant details.

  • Notice: Hindolveston Road Closure 13 – 17 November 2017

    NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the C331 The Street closed 260 metres east of its junction with Melton Road east for 90 metres in the PARISH OF HINDOLVESTON because of electrical works. A copy of the order can be downloaded by clicking here.

    The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 13th November 2017 to 17th November 2017 for the duration of the works, expected to be 5 days within the period.

    Alternative route is via: C331 The Street, C227 Melton Road/Hindolveston Road, B1354 Briston Road/Fakenham Road,U14423 Church Street/Hall Street/Reepham Road/Wood Dalling Road, C3312 Hindolveston Road/Thurning Road

  • Scam Awareness Presentation: 24th November 2017

    Mr Phil Brown will be giving the second Scam Awareness Presentation, free of charge, in the Village Hall starting at 7.30 pm on Friday 24th November 2017. It will last around 50 minutes plus time for questions. It will also cover the topic of Ransomware and citizens’ rights under current and future UK data protection laws.

    The Astley Bar opens at 7.00 pm for pre-presentation drinks and will open after the show. See below for more details or to download the poster, click here.

  • Road Closure – The Street Hindol: 23rd August 2017

     

    1. The Order allows the Traffic Authority (Norfolk County Council) to temporarily restrict or prohibit the use of a road and/or footpath. The same notice can be downloaded by clicking here.

    2. The ‘Propose To’ Notice (PT) can be downloaded here. This is the public Notice NCC must advertise at least seven days before making an Order.

    3. The ‘Has Made’ Notice (HM) can be downloaded here. This is the public Notice NCC must advertise within 14 days of making an Order.

     

     

  • Road Closure Melton Constable: 03 – 04 August 2017

    Please note the NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION ORDER 2017 for MELTON CONSTABLE. Click here for details but in essence the order prohibits the use by vehicles of the C227 Hindolveston Road from a point 1200m North of its junction with C331 The Street heading North for 400m in the PARISH OF MELTON CONSTABLE from 08:30 3rd August 2017 to 16:00 3rd August 2017 for the duration of the works expected to be about 8 within the period

    The purpose is to restring overhead electrical conductors is required at the C227 Hindolveston Road from a point 1200m North of its junction with C331 The Street heading North for 400m in the PARISH OF MELTON CONSTABLE.

  • Report: SID arrives in Hindol – 30th May 2017

    5 months after the Parish Council approved the application for a grant to cover 50% of the cost of a Speed Indicating Device (SID) or ‘nagging flasher’ as some call it, the SID has been installed.  It is managed by a dedicated SID team. At the June meeting the Parish Council adopted a new Speed Traffic Management Policy. For more details, have a look at the Traffic Speed Management page and if you are interested in supporting it, contact the team leader, Phil Brown, in the first instance.

  • Notice of Vacancy in Office of Councillor

    Due to the resignation of Mr Phil Brown from the Parish Council on 29th June 2017, there now exits a vacancy for a parish councillor. Formal notice is found on this post below inviting anyone to request an election for the vacant post. For a downloadable version click here. If insufficient requests are made then the Parish Council may appoint a councillor via the co-option route at the September meeting subject to one or more suitable candidates being nominated.
