Stuart Wilson RAF was the navigator of the Wellington BK440 that crashed just outside the village in December 1943.

In May 2019, one of his two nephews contacted the web manager to seek further information about the exact location of the crash and the new memorial plaque.

He also provided the web manager with a photo of Sgt Wilson and has expressed his kind permission that this be made available on the village website.
