The Rec

General

The Recreation Ground, known locally as ‘The Rec’ is located at the eastern end of the village. In addition to a wide open space for general sports, it has a children’s play area and the Millennium Pavilion.

The Recreation Ground – The Rec

This is a large open, cultivated area, large enough for two full size football pitches or one cricket pitch. It is surrounded on 3 sides by hedges and beyond these is agricultural land. There is a car park, waste bins and a dog waste bin.

The major events on the Rec in 2016 were the Village Summer Fete in June and Roc on the Rec live concert in July.

The Millennium Pavilion

The Millennium Pavilion was opened, as the name suggests, in 2000 and is a frequently used facility by the Ladies Group and Parish Council among others. The main entrance faces The Rec.

It is possible to hire the building but before doing so please have a look at the hiring agreement.

The Play Area

The Play Area is specifically designed to be a safe, clean area for younger children to play under supervision. A visual check of the play equipment is undertaken by a member of the Parish Council on a weekly basis and the results are recorded. It is also subject to an annual inspection by the RoSPA which was last conducted in May 2016.
