Hindolveston Village Cinema resumes in September with an Autumn schedule of films.

Saturday 16 September: THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN  (12A)

Set in a rugged and desperately poor but beautiful Irish island in 1923, “The Banshees of Inisherin” starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, focuses on two long time best friends that have a falling out.  Although Padraic and CoIm have been lifelong friends, they find themselves at an impasse, when one abruptly ends their relationship, bringing alarming consequences for both of them.  “The film itself is a stone cold classic” (Evening Standard) – nominated for nine Oscars, (Best Film, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, Best Screenplay etc.) and winner of four Baftas.

Saturday 30 September: LUNANA: A YAK IN THE CLASSROOM (PG)

“Lunana” is a A beautifully filmed and heart-warming film set in amazing scenery, up high in the Himalayan Mountains of Bhutan – a charming, quietly funny culture-clash film. Ugyen dreams of going to Australia, but first he must complete a year of his government teacher’s contract, posted to the remote village of Lunana, where he finds a simple, yak- herding community lacking electricity, and even a blackboard in the school classroom.
