A truly original challenging British film, set in Cornwall. Stunningly shot on vintage B&W 16mm film, ‘Bait’ is a timely, funny, yet poignant, film of a community facing change. Martin is a fisherman, struggling to buy a boat, while coping with family rivalry and the influx of tourist money, AirBnB, and stag parties. With his childhood village now a get-away for London money, Martin struggles against family, tourists and locals alike, until a tragedy changes his world.

A beautifully bittersweet drama of a Chinese-American family who discover their beloved Grandmother has only a short while left to live, but decide to keep her in the dark, and schedule an impromptu wedding in China to gather family before she passes. In this funny, uplifting tale, there’s a heartfelt celebration of the family, masterfully interweaving a gentle humour of a good lie in action, with a moving story of what can unite us.
