• Something to look forward to!

Within the next few weeks work will be completed on the pocket park ( the land adjacent to the play area). This will be an area where you can picnic on the new tables and enjoy a beautiful wildflower area It will be something for the village to enjoy in Spring /Summer 2021. There will also be a new bench at the back of the Rec so you sit and relax when you’re walking around the Rec.

  • Hindolveston Parish Council Covid-19 Hardship Grant

    Covid-19 Hardship Grant

Earlier in the year Hindolveston Parish Council was successful in a bid to Norfolk Community Foundation and received a grant of £1,000 to support residents during the Covid-19 pandemic. £280 has already been distributed to families in need.

Although the lockdown is lifting and life is beginning to return to a ‘new normal’, the Parish Council is concerned that there will be some people and families who will be experiencing financial difficulties as a fallout from the pandemic. It has therefore been decided to invite residents who are in need, hardship or distress to apply for a grant (which will be distributed in supermarket vouchers for buying food).

If you are in need or experiencing hardship as a result of the pandemic, please do consider applying for a Covid-19 Hardship Grant from the Parish Council. (Your application will be considered by a working group of parish councillors in private, supported by the Clerk and will remain confidential.)

Please do contact the Parish Clerk, Joanna Otte on 01328 822366 or email [email protected] to receive an application form for a Covid-19 Hardship Grant.

  • LIVE STREAM FOR FUNERAL OF FRANK BURNETT

Let’s go fly a kite – Hindolveston Recreation Ground 2016

It’s with sadness that I have to announce the death on April 23rd of my much loved Dad Frank Burnett, formerly of Gillets, Fulmodeston Road.  Dad and my Mum Vicki, whom we lost in 2016, lived in the village for 30 years and loved it.   There’s a huge number of happy memories which I hope we may all share on 28 April (Frank’s birthday) 2021 when a wake is booked in his memory at the Village Hall.  Meanwhile, please find details below of how you can join with us to say goodbye (no, sorry, as a believer I mean au revoir … !). The webcast is available for 28 days after its live screening, until May 30, so I hope very much you can be part of it, though Coronavirus means there’ll be very few of us physically present.  Meanwhile, a huge thank you to all Dad’s friends in the village who were such a big part of his life.  God bless you.

    With love to all

    Alison (daughter) xx

  • Algy’s Drive-Through Farm Shop

We, at Algy’s farm shop in Bintree, are supporting local communities with a supply of groceries. We have stock of most things, but supply is variable.

We have set up a “while you wait drive-through service”: come to the shop, pick up the grocery list, choose your items, hand the list through the window, wait while we pick and pack, you’ll be called over to pay and collect.

We have implemented this to keep a safe distance between staff and to enable customers to not be in close proximity.

We are looking at rolling out a delivery service too, but this will take a week or so.

Please see an example of the Algy’s Food Order Form. All items are subject to availability.
